Mixed Media and exploratory techniques are not the terrain of the traditional painter, but students who journey with Sitts will experience a “visual sensation” throughout the process.

“ It requires different painting habits, breaking the paradigm. Breaking these habits require the understanding of layering color, and executing shapes and texture. Once armed with knowledge of these fundamentals and of the possibilities of various mixed media techniques, creativity and spontaneity are endless” says Sitts.
About Jan Sitts: In Jan's more than thirty years as an art instructor and professional painter, she continues her exploration and experimentation with the mediums.
Her accomplishments in the art arena are many: working in commercial art, teaching in public schools, and instructing international workshops.
Her studies include the Kansas City Art Institute (Kansas City, Missouri), a B.A. degree at Western State College (Gunnison, Colorado), and ongoing workshops and seminars in the arts.

Jan's focus is on layered and experimental art.
